The Maynard Fire Department has proudly served the residents of the fire district in Marcy, NY, since 1953.
The fire department is 100% staffed by volunteers, women and men who make a significant contribution to Maynard while working other careers or enjoying retirement. Our volunteer members are dedicated, community-oriented people who receive the best fire rescue and emergency medical service training available and respond to over 500 calls for service a year.
A great sense of excitement and achievement comes from extinguishing a structure fire, freeing a trapped patient from their vehicle, reviving a patient using CPR, or delivering a baby, but often the highest level of care we have the honor of providing is simply holding someone’s hand during their difficult time. The fulfillment, camaraderie, and experience of the fire and rescue service are often beyond description.
